Child Protection

To all volunteers,

The Diocesan Office of Child and Youth Protection has revised and updated the required training for all employees and volunteers. The Diocese requires all volunteers who work directly with children and vulnerable adults to be trained in recognizing signs of abuse. Ministries included are PSR, VBS, Children's Church, Youth Group, anyone who participates in our youth retreats, and all Homebound Ministers. All current volunteers should have received communication from the office in regards to training. You must have a volunteer application on file, completed the online training course, and signed the Code of Ethics. If you are unsure if you have met all the requirements, please feel free to contact our Child Protection Coordinator, Jennifer Creel, at stmarkmdo@eatel.net or by calling the church office.
Please know that if you have already completed training on behalf of another Church or for our Catholic Schools, you will not need to train again. If you choose to not complete the training, you will be unable to continue working with our youth on campus. Please contact us with any questions! We are more than happy to help!

The Diocese of Baton Rouge is fully committed to the protection of minors and vulnerable adults, as is St. Mark Catholic Church. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Know that we are most appreciative of your time and talent as a volunteer of our church.

Please follow the instructions below to complete your online training!
